Good evening Parents/Carers
As you have likely seen this evening, the Prime Minister has advised that Great Britain is now facing a National Lockdown. This has closed businesses and non-essential shops from Thursday (5th November) until 2nd December 2020.
Boris Johnson has announced that schools and early years settings must remain open unlike the Spring lockdown. We expect your child to be attending from 2nd November. Therefore, you will still receive your invoices as normal for payment.
We know that many of you had concerns about sending your child to the setting earlier in the term, and we wanted to reassure you that we are doing our utmost to ensure that the school is kept clean and reduce the risk of infection. Any children or staff who exhibit symptoms consistent with COVID-19 will be asked to stay at home and can only return once they have been tested and receive a negative result.
We have made some improvements and renovations to the setting over half term and will only use materials in the preschool that can be thoroughly wiped clean and sanitised. Parents will still be unable to enter the setting with their children and we will be asking you to ensure that you have taken your child’s temperature before they enter the setting.
We have already tried to make better and more regular use of the outdoor spaces surrounding the school, including our garden, and we will continue to do so in all weathers to reduce the potential for unnecessary indoor contact. Please ensure that your child has a waterproof coat, warm clothing and sensible shoes for outdoor play.
Of course if it is your expressed wish to keep your child at home, we will support your decision. Please be aware however that your child’s funding is linked directly to their attendance.
To confirm that you do not wish for your child to attend the setting, please send an email with your child’s name in the subject to firstname.lastname@example.org
